It’s not just for humans. Spring cleaning applies to our pets too, perfecting hygiene, homes, and hang outs. Here are a few healthy tips on Spring Cleaning for your dog.

Install/Change out home Air Filters
Reduce pet odors
Built-in ionizers minimize allergens
Air freshener

Clean Beds and Bedding
Vacuum your dog’s bed regularly
Wash & dry the cover and bed base

Clean Collars

Wash your dog’s collar with dog shampoo and warm water
Let soak for 15 minutes, rinse and hang dry

Remove Dog Hair
Remove pet hair from furniture, drapes, etc.
Slightly dampen a rubber glove on your hand and sweep the fabric with it
Hair will ball up and be easy to pick up

Clean up Muddy Paws
Trim any hair that grows around your pup’s paws regularly
On muddy days, stop your pip at the door and dip each paw into a bucket of warm water Gently wipe paws with a towel

Give your dog a Dry Bath
Give your dog a quick dry bath to deter from dry skin, itching and flaking
Brush out his coat first to loosen dead hair, dirt, and debris
Wipe him down with a towel spritzed with a solution of half Apple Cider Vinegar and half water
Sprinkle a light dusting of baking soda on him and rub it in
This will neutralize the smell of the vinegar
Let it sit for a minute or so, then brush it off. Tip

Wash Toys
Wash dog toys to keep them germ-free and in good shape
For soft toys, pop them in the washing machine (Be sure to use dog-safe detergent)
Line dry or put them in the dryer inside a pillowcase
Hard toys can go in the dishwasher with their bowls

Vacuum
You know the drill!

Yard Maintenance
Cut down on messes inside the home by maintaining your yard
If your yard is mostly dirt, consider putting sod down in one area to prevent muddy paws
Give your dog toys exclusively for outdoor play, keeping the indoor toys clean
Scatter orange peels in places where you don’t want your dog to dig, like flower beds or vegetable gardens, as citrus smells
